. . . as many times as I have fished those waters, I have never seen two wild tiger trout caught in the same day! Jason Jefferies caught one in the Whitewater River just upstream from the 281 bridge, and I caught mine in upper Bearwallow Creek, right beside the Gorges State Park access road.

I caught trout in 37 new creeks in NC (13 different counties) in 2024 to raise my total to 1086! Ten of them came off my bucket list!

I got five new creeks and fished some old favorites in the last trips of 2024.

the stream is beautiful, and it consistently has the best late-summer water-levels and fishing in WNC.
