Snowbird Camping Trip 2020

Another great camping trip has come and gone. . . three days of good fishing, good food, and good fellowship around the campfire. It didn't rain as much as usual and the water levels were great, but it got downright cold at night. Coach Shook, Coach Fox, and Colonel Brooks couldn't make it this year. We really missed you guys, but we told some of your stories and reminisced about you anyway! Coach Shook, your fly rod caught the biggest trout, and Colonel, I really need you to come next year so we can walk into Slickrock! I started telling a Coach Fox story and Coach Brooks chimed in with "now tell me if you've heard this story before - it don't matter, I'm gonna tell it anyway"!

Here is the list of this year's attendees:

Me (Ray Sugg), although I am not in any of the pictures, I promise I was there!

Doug Brooks

Larry Brow

Brian Craig

Ronnie Craig

Jessie Craig

Bailey Craig

Ty Craig

Austin Sluder

Mike Sutton

Andrew Sutton

Chris McRoberts

Alan Grover

Master trout fryer - Chris McRoberts
Grover and McRoberts - the Dynamic Duo
Bailey Craig caught the biggest fish of the trip - on a dry fly!
Ty Craig with a couple of nice trout

I got a lot of help on the campfire singin' from Andrew Sutton this year, and as soon as Larry Brow and Austin Sluder learn how to play the banjo, we are all going on the road as "Snowbird Creek". Coach Brooks, I promise to learn the lyrics to "Lyin' Eyes" by next June!

This year's playlist in no particular order:

Wagon Wheel

Heard It In A Love Song

You Ain't Goin' Nowhere

Take It Easy

Tequila Sunrise

Country Roads

Rocky Top

Margaritaville

A Pirate Looks At 40

Ain't Even Done With the Night

Cheeseburger In Paradise

Copperhead Road

Fire On The Mountain

I did get three new creeks (Chestnut Flat Branch, Hooper Branch, and Little Buffalo Creek - I will post these separately) raising my total to 973 creeks. I also added a couple of limits to the fish fry and caught-and-released bunches of stockers near our campsite and down at B1 on hares ear nymphs and buggers.

Snowbird Creek

There were stocked brookies in almost every pocket.

Thanks again for another great trip, guys! Here are the rest of the pics:

Jessie, Larry, Bailey, Ty, Doug, and Brian
Doug, Brian, Ronnie, Mike, Andrew, Austin, Jessie and Larry
Our favorite bridge
The Craig Family Reunion, plus Austin Sluder (Larry Brow is Jessie's father-in-law)

See you next June at Snowbird!
