Goodbye 2021!

I only caught trout in 15 new creeks in 2021, the fewest since I started my quest for 1,000 NC creeks. However, one of those creeks, Greer Branch, was number 1,000! Now that I have reached that milestone, what comes next? Bobby Kilby reached 1,300 NC creeks in 2021, a record I have no intention of trying to break. One of my goals is to get Bobby inducted into the Southern Appalachian Fly Fishing Hall of Fame. I am also working on a "bucket list" of NC Creeks that I have not yet fished, and I will share that list in a later post. I turned 60 in December, and many of the creeks on that list involve hikes or back-country camping, so I need to get as many in 2022 as I can! There are also some more creeks in Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina that I would like to fish. Since I plan on teaching and coaching for another ten years, that's about as far away from Haywood County as I'm likely to get. I am still working on my annual "Adventures of a Trout Bum" video for 2021, and will post it soon. Finally, my New Year's Resolution is to post at least once a week, at least until soccer season starts!
