I caught wild rainbows in two new creeks in Yancey County that are not recognized as trout water. Jacks Creek is a Toe River tributary, and Mine Fork runs into Jacks Creek at Clearmont School. I went home through Madison County and could not resist the urge to catch a few more trout, so I hit California Creek for some chunky rainbows on nymphs and Puncheon Fork for the evening hatch.
