I had a rare Saturday with no soccer game, so I headed to a speckled trout stream in Haywood County that you can drive to. Most WNC streams are suffering from low-water, but this watershed has the best water levels around. The browns are getting ready to spawn farther downstream, and I saw a few specs in the tails of pools that will be spawning soon. I caught a couple on nymphs, but after the third take on the orange indicator, I switched to an orange parachute dry fly and caught fish consistently.
