At the time of this writing, I am six days in on a 10-day Covid-19 quarantine due to close contact. From teaching fully remote classes to teaching a blended schedule (some remote/some in person) to coaching soccer while wearing a mask, 2020 has been unlike any of my previous 58 years. I have actually had more time to fish this year, but fished "home water" more and traveled to new creeks less than recent years. This year, I caught trout on flies in 38 new creeks in nine different WNC counties. Yancey County tops this year's list with nine creeks, but seven of those were on the same day! I begin 2021 with 990 creeks and only ten to go to reach 1,000! Bobby Kilby is up to 1,299 creeks, and would like to hit 1300 the same day I hit 1000 - IF we can find a creek that neither of us has fished. I have listed my new creeks from 2020 below, and I have updated my excel spreadsheet listing all 990 creeks in the "Creeks" tab.
